1.1 Full-service hotel minimum 3-star category.
1.2 Information about the hotel’s wellness philosophy is provided (guest newspaper or folder in the room, posters or events).
1.3 Conveniently placed signs direct guests to the spa and wellness area.
1.4 The wellness offer (incl. price information) can be used to book therapies/treatments prior to check-in.
1.6 Rules for children are clearly defined, included in the hotel information folder and displayed at the entrance to the wellness facility.
1.7 Written information (incl. safety advice) regarding the use of the wellness facilities and sports equipment. This is to be displayed where guests can easily see it.
1.8 All services are carried out exclusively by appropriately trained and qualified members of staff.
1.9 Towelling robes and flip-flops are provided free of charge for guests in all rooms
1.10 The wellness facility is open for a minimum of 8 hours daily.
2.1 The use of the hotel’s own wellness facility is included in the price of accommodation (with the exception of specifically stated payable applications).
2.2 Bath and sauna towels are provided free of charge for guests.
2.3 The spa and wellness area is a smoke-free zone.
2.4 There is no need to pass through meeting or restaurant areas to reach the wellness facility.
2.5 Required standards of hygiene in the sauna suite and/or bathing complex are maintained and checked several times daily.
2.6 The indoor and outdoor pools have a minimum temperature of 27° and a minimum surface area of 40 m².
2.7 There is ample space for guests’ belongings and sufficient cloakrooms and showers.
2.8 The number of relaxer chairs is at least 10% that of hotel beds.
2.11 The sauna suite offers at least 3 options: e.g. dry, herbal or biosauna, steambath, whirlpool fresh air supply, cold shower and relaxation zone (separate room) with sufficient oxygen-rich air are also absolutely essential. Sauna rules and philosophy are to be clearly displayed at the entrance to the sauna area. Free provision of non-alcoholic drinks (mineral water, tea, juice) and fruit in the wellness area.
2.14 The spa and wellness area has a minimum of 4 application/treatment rooms.
3.1 Option to exercise in separate hotel fitness room. Minimum of 2 stamina-building machines, e.g. bicycle, treadmill, stepper, and 2 strength-training machines for a minimum of 6 muscle groups.
3.4 Exercise areas have daylight and good ventilation.
3.5 All equipment and facilities are in full working order.
3.6 The hotel must provide beauty treatments (facials and body care).
3.7 A range of massage and beauty treatments is available to guests 7 days a week in fully equipped, purpose-built rooms.
3.9 At least 5 times a week guests are offered a free exercise programme for instance, gym, aerobics, guided walks or cycle tours, activities based in the water or fitness room etc, and relaxation sessions such as massage, yoga, meditation, autogenous training and breathing exercises.
4.1 At least 1 member of staff is available to deal with wellness enquiries every day
4.2 The staff member responsible for wellness meets training specifications as per Appendix 1
4.3 Emergency management includes an Emergency Procedures information sheet and a telephone with emergency numbers installed in the wellness facility. An emergency pharmacy is available at reception
4.4 Information relating to further local or regional opportunities for exercise, relaxation and culture.
4.5 Addresses of local specialists (doctor, nutrition advice, sport management).
5.1 Clearly demarcated, or at least visibly separate, smoking area in the dining room/restaurant (otherwise non-smoking).
5.2 Balanced wellness menu (fresh, regional, seasonal products) and vegetarian meals (together with salad and vegetable dishes).
5.3 Breakfast buffet.
5.5 Opportunity for a light lunch, provision of light snacks (small menu).
5.6 Dieting/fasting programmes only to be offered under the supervision of an expert, such as a doctor or nutritionist.

1.5 Prior to check-in, the reservation must be confirmed at reception and at the entrance area to the individual treatment rooms.
1.11 The bathing facilities are open for at least 12 hours.
2.9 A minimum of 2 swimming pools and/or whirlpools are available to guests.
2.10 Two separate rest and recovery rooms are also available to guests.
2.12 The sauna suite includes at least three sweat baths with different heat cycles.
2.13 Option of additional sweat baths* available to guests. (*in addition to the 3 sweat baths stipulated in SN 2.12. max. 4 points can be obtained for this provision in addition to SN 2.12.)
2.15 The spa and wellness area has at least 8 treatment rooms.
2.16 The spa and wellness area has a staffed meeting room (bar, tables, seating) with refreshments available.
3.2 The exercise area offers a separate gym.
3.3 The exercise area offers a separate fitness room with a minimum of two cardiovascular machines and two multifunction exercise machines for endurance training.
3.8 Hotel hairdresser.
3.10 Exercise and/or relaxation facilities (minimum of 2) are available to guests 7 days a week.
5.4 A nutritious breakfast includes freshly squeezed juice and/or fruit and a variety of bread and cheeses to cater for individual nutritional requirements.
